Engineering and Architecture Firm Announces Expansion to Sioux Falls

Tuesday, December 05, 2017
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – ISG, a multi-disciplinary firm based in Mankato, Minnesota, announced today that it is expanding to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, come February 2018. It will occupy space in the Lumber Exchange office building in downtown Sioux Falls. ISG provides high-level architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning strategies, services, and guidance to a wide range of markets nationwide. This expansion will be ISG’s first in South Dakota, making it the ninth location and fourth state in which ISG has a presence.

While the firm’s physical presence will start in 2018, ISG has partnered with local agricultural leaders on drainage efforts and with major food and industrial companies among other markets.

“ISG has a successful track record in terms of growth and sustainability and it’s my pleasure to welcome it to South Dakota,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “ISG actively seeks people who are innovative, driven and committed to progressive development and that’s exactly the kind of company we like to see take root in South Dakota.”

In January 2017, ISG transitioned the firm to a formal Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). ISG says it is long-committed to providing professional development and leadership credentials to young professionals, many of whom have grown and excelled within the firm and graduated from the area, including ISG Executive Vice President and South Dakota State University alum, Lynn Bruns, PE, LEED AP.

“Having access to a pipeline of valuable, talented workers is extremely important for ISG to thrive and build employee ownership,” said Chad Surprenant, PE, president and CEO, ISG. “We look forward to building a relationship with regional schools and development leaders who share in our firm culture and values.”

“For more than 40 years, ISG has provided quality engineering expertise to our region,” said Dean Dziedzic, interim president, Sioux Falls Development Foundation. “With the record-setting construction activity Sioux Falls has experienced in recent years, we’re happy to welcome the ISG team to our community. We know they will continue to grow with our expanding economy.”
