GOED Markets Finance Programs Directly To Banks

Preview Preview Preview

While promoting South Dakota as a great place to do business to in-state and out-of-state companies is a big part of what the GOED does, the office also promotes its finance programs to banks and small businesses.

“For several years, we have been running ads in the South Dakota Bankers Association monthly magazine,” says Commissioner Pat Costello. “Many of our finance programs require banking participation, and the Bankers magazine is read by those at all levels in the industry - including CEOs, presidents, directors and senior management. It is really a great tool to reach those individuals.”

Ads in SDBA’s magazine will run to mid-2017. The magazine has a monthly circulation of 700.

Additionally, GOED staff regularly visits with bankers at banks across the state and at various conferences and meetings. In 2015, staff members made 120 such visits.

“Our goal is to make these visits educational and informational, as well as promotional. Visiting with bankers one-on-one is a great way to help keep our programs in the front of their minds while working with their customers,” said Costello. “When we are working together to help small businesses grow, we are working to move South Dakota’s economy forward.”
