Shep Hyken Named Keynote Speaker
Shep Hyken

Shep Hyken, customer service expert, professional speaker and author, will kick off the 2016 Governor's Economic Development Conference on April 13 in Sioux Falls.

"We are certainly excited to have secured Shep as our keynote speaker," said GOED Commissioner Pat Costello. "He is going to focus on the parallels between selling and service, meeting and exceeding expectations, handling confrontations and building relationships."

Other session topics include: workforce develoment coordinators, non-monetary incentives, social media, and South Dakota's equity fund.

The conference - themed "It's Showtime!" - is at the Sanford Research Center for the second year. New for 2016 is a networking reception on the evening of April 12 at the Sioux Falls Sheraton.

"We made some adjustments to our schedule this year that are designed around the needs and feedback of our partners," said Costello. "In addition to the social, we will also be holding a supplemental session on the morning of April 14 that will focus on rural community development."
