Lending Partner of the Year Selected

First National Bank was chosen as the South Dakota Governor's Office of Economic Development's Lending Partner of the Year.

"This is a new award that we established to recognize the bankers that have most effectively partnered with us throughout the year," GOED Commissioner Pat Costello said. "Teaming with bankers is such a vital part of so many of the GOED's financing programs, we felt it was only appropriate to recognize standout banks and bankers."

The award was given at the South Dakota Bankers Association's student business plan competition on Feb. 13.

Fifteen South Dakota businesses and agricultural groups have been selected to join Gov. Dennis Daugaard on a trade mission to China.

The mission will allow participating businesses and the state to explore exporting opportunities in overseas markets. The mission will run from April 5-12. Read More Orange

  Certifed Ready Logo

WatertownHuron and Sturgis are joining Canton as communities in South Dakota that have sites certified under the GOED's Certified Ready Sites Program.

"We are excited that this program is beginning to expand," said GOED Commissioner Pat Costello. "The Certified Ready Sites program is a great tool for cities, counties and developers in South Dakota to use to promote development-ready commercial, technology-based and industrial sites in their communities."
